This word is defined as a strong expression of disapproval, censure, and sentencing. Jesus, our savior, was condemned to death for preaching the truth, for healing and showing love! Can you imagine that?! But sadly even today we are condemned. Not by Christ but ourselves and others. John 3:18 says “He who believes in Him is not condemned. But he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (MEV)” and Romans 8:1- “There is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” See! As believers in Christ we are not condemned by the things we have done. Jesus Christ died for all of your sins and things you have done, did do, and will do. So all that guilt and condemnation to pain and hurt that you feel is self-guilt and self-condemnation. For it says that God will forgive your sins, forget them and make you white as snow. It says so in Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins.” And Isaiah 1:18, God says “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” So this is not just me telling you what you want to hear but it is written in scripture! When we feel these thoughts and fears of condemnation, you must fight back with the word of God. This is why it’s important to know scriptures and keep them in your heart as weapons against the lied that the enemy will use to steal your joy.
You must know that in not believing who we were destined to be and the word of God, we are simply saying to our Lord Savior that we don’t believe that His words are true. You don’t want that, do you? One of my favorite verses to remember is Jeremiah 29:11 where God tells us that “The plans I have or you are plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” He has promised this to us and we know that God has NEVER broken a promise but it is our unbelief that keeps us from His promises. Going back to the first verse I used, John 3:18 It says that “he who does not believe is already condemned, NOT “he who does not believe is condemned by Christ but it is in your unbelief that condemns you.
So today, give all the pain, guilt, condemnation and all your sins unto Christ. For the only sins and problems God cannot forgive and fix for you are the ones you do not bring to Him. He loves you. He does not condemn you. He wants all things good and all things peace for your life so remember that and trust Him. Believe in Him and know that His death was for you. The ultimate action of love.
